You'll find plenty of in-depth information about Brittany on the web. All of the following sites are in English: The official Brittany Tourist Board site is at http://www.brittanytourism.com/eng.cfm For a broader, less tourism-focused look at the region, look at "Région Bretagne", at http://www.region-bretagne.fr/english/ A less formal site that nevertheless features a broad range of information, is "Bienvenue en Bretagne", at http://www.bretagne.com/eng.htm If you dig deeper on-line and find more local sites in French, you can use Alta Vista's Babelfish translation facility, at http://babelfish.altavista.com/ for approximate English versions. |

Looking after the
environment Brittany is increasingly concerned with building the awareness of both its residents and its visitors of environmental quality and protection. It is focused on safety, grading and classification of food and water (including organic methods), as well as quality of accommodation. The Consumer Associations of Brittany, in collaboration with the Regional Tourism Committee, have published an excellent booklet in English and French, titled "Vacanciers: aimer la Bretagne c'est la respecter", on this subject. It makes interesting reading, and if you share these concerns, you'll find it valuable too. The booklet should be easily obtained from most tourist offices. |
